At BOL, the mission is simple: just plants, made delicious. While most of us would say that’s easier said than done, BOL’s unique approach allows people to easily enjoy consuming more veggies. The company knows that accessibility is paramount in invoking change, so an omni-channel sales approach was more than necessary. We partnered with BOL to take their mission to Shopify, allowing customers to up their plant consumption no matter where they shop.

Design

BOL has already served over 35 million portions of vegetables in the past few years, so we knew we had to go above and beyond with the site’s new design in order to match the on-going accomplishments of the brand. The mission remained top of mind when it came to reformatting the website, and we opted for simple and intuitive UX. While BOL’s products and recipes are innovative, we kept functionality seamless and simple for the best shopping experience possible. Whether buying one-off, subscription, or bundle vegetables, we ensured that eating plants has never been easier.

Development

Plants may take some time and patience to grow, but shopping for them shouldn’t! In cultivating these designs, we focused on the use of code cleaner than BOL’s quality ingredients. The optimised site speed and responsiveness are sourced from a lack of additives, preservatives, and other heavy modules in the site code. In addition to this website’s clean development, our team also worked on migrating BOL’s data from their legacy platform over to Shopify for a simple, cohesive handoff.
